About Spire Architecture
SPIRE Architecture is a full-service Architecture firm based in Annapolis, Maryland.
We believe that a home should not only be safe and attractive, but also designed with your style of living in mind. By creating custom projects to fit our client’s varied lives, we forward the notion of Authentic Living, through Design.
Founded in 2012 by Kurt Shepard and Craig Martin, SPIRE Architecture started from the desire to design authentic living spaces; architecture designed to be both enjoyable, functional and affordable.
The practice at SPIRE is to provide comprehensive services, offering quality design to clients, resources for permitting and constructing, along with connections to interior designers, landscape architects, and top-notch construction services for a complete design team.
SPIRE was born of two firms joining forces, Craig’s “Martin Architecture Guild”, and Kurt’s “KCS Architects”. Together, with a combined 28 years of Architectural experience, Kurt and Craig dovetail the years of in-the-office design experience, in-the-field construction time, and experience in navigating the sometimes-difficult permitting process in Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, and throughout Maryland.
SPIRE continues into our 12th year in 2024…with seven ‘Home of the Week’ features and being named ‘Best of Annapolis -Best Home Design’ in 2014 and ‘Best Architect’ for 2017, 2018 and 2019 by What’s Up: Annapolis. Our firm’s success is a direct result of the great client relationships and effective project teams we form with local builders and craftsmen, creating attractive and stylish designs to fit a variety of tastes and budgets.
